the cotton feels so silky smooth and it is excellently crafted! I also love the color - so richly colored.I like this trapeze bag from Vera Bradley. It stands up nicely on any countertop with or without items in it due to its smartly designed larger bottom base, which makes filling it with cosmetics, toiletries, or setting it on a bed or countertop a snap! I really like the black and white floral pattern on the inside, which is protected with an easy wipe surface on the inside in the event of my always inevitable “Oops, I forgot to put the cap on that…”spills. (I can’t tell you how many bags over the years I have ruined due to the fact that they did not have a liner.) That won’t happen with this bag!The bag on the outside is black, keeping items organized neatly (even if you are a messy packer!) because of the non-see through exterior , but the inside is strategically designed so you can view items at a glance. Any fur, etc, (shedding cats LOL!) was easily removed from the exterior with a damp cloth. There is a very well-designed clear plastic pocket you can use to separate items…I have a travel brush, comb, and finishing brush that fits perfectly in the slip pocket. Love this because you can see at a glance what is in the pocket, and main compartment due to it being clear.I am using this for putting toiletries in for an upcoming trip, but you can easily use it for both makeup and toiletries because it is the perfect size for throwing in a purse or tote for everyday use. I like how it has a little thumb loop that you can conveniently grasp it from in your bag for quick touch ups. (It’s the little details that matter!) It zips up quickly and easily too! (In the photos I am showing all that I put in the bag, but as you can see I didn’t overpack it, because I am still planning my trip, and am still saving room for last minute items. I am also showing the large slip pocket, how you can expand it or push it back if you aren’t going to use the pocket, making it very versatile for any trip or use! The last picture shows the bag filled up, with plenty of room to spare!) It is also ideal for overpackers, because there’s lots of room to work with in this bag! (Guilty as charged!)The material is super soft, which surprised me because this is a part of their consciously crafted cotton line and I hadn’t really tried this before so I wasn’t sure what to expect. This product is used from materials created from recycled plastic bottles so this makes me feel good supporting companies and products that are working towards new solutions to help the environment! I am so pleased with this bag that I ordered the matching travel bag to go with it because I am so literally obsessed with this bag. I am very pleased with this Vera Bradley Trapeze Bag and hope you will be too. They just released some new patterns if colors aren’t your thing, so I will be definitely be checking those out too in the future! Happy and safe travels!As expected, this Vera Bradley pouch is excellent quality. The zipper is sturdy and smooth. The interior is divided and half of the pouch is plastic lined. I would slightly prefer a full coverage plastic lining, but the partial lining provides some protection against items like make up brushes and the ability to wipe clean. I used the pouch for first aid supplies on a recent family trip and it was a nice size to hold various salves/ointments, band aids, etc.My only complaint is that the material significantly attracts pet hair and lint. We have several pets, so that is a huge issue for my family. If I had a patterned version this might not be such a big deal, but mine is black and it shows terribly.My wife has become a Vera Bradley fan with a number of the line's purses and bags, but with this makeup bag, is branching out on some of the Bradley offerings. This bag is reminiscent of the purses she has, with some of them being black and a similar if not exact copy of the material used. So far she is greatly impressed and believes she will get some good use of of it.The bag is black, and again, similar if not matching some of her bags. So far we have not had it long, but the bag seems like it is well made with good stitching and construction, and if it's like the purses and bags she has, should have a good, solid life to it. The inside has a matching, but different pattern to match and compliment the solid black. My wife does note that bags like this do attract lint and our cat's fur. But if it is the same, it is not difficult to clear off and clean, so not a big deal, but something she mentions. The inside material looks nice and because it is lighter, makes it easier to see inside. There is plastic and two sides to the interior, so good for protecting the fabric and keeping things from becoming a mess, if you know... something happens. She often wraps things inside bags like this in other plastic to protect it, but having the plastic in there, she will continue with the added bags - when needed - but feels like overall it'll just be all the more protected. For this she is grateful and impressed.She has only given it a cursory test on amount of items, but she got in the primary things she takes - albeit not taking time to really test it, but to see - and she is happy with the size. This bag will get used often on our trips, from weekends to weeks long.In the end my wife - and I to the extent of learning her preferences and being the one to take the pictures and write about these things - have come to find the Vera Bradley brand a reliable, good, solid, nice product. my wife loves her bags and purses and now finds these additional items to be as quality. Overall she is thrilled, and I'm thrilled she is so happy with them. Happy to add another Vera Bradley item to the lineup.
